Certification & quality

Every piece leaves us with paperwork you can check independently. Here is exactly what you get and how to verify it.

Gold

BIS hallmarked, with a HUID you can look up

Indian law requires hallmarking on gold jewellery, and we hold to it on every single piece — including the smallest pendant. Four marks are struck into the metal:

  • The BIS logo, confirming assay by a licensed centre
  • The purity grade — 22K916 or 18K750
  • A six-digit HUID, unique to your piece
  • The jeweller’s mark identifying us

You can type the HUID into the free BIS Care app and see the piece registered against our licence. If a jeweller anywhere cannot show you a HUID, walk away.

Diamonds

IGI or SGL certified, graded before it reaches you

Every diamond piece is sent to an independent laboratory before it goes on sale. The certificate travels with the jewellery and records the four measures that decide value:

  • Carat — the stone’s weight, to two decimal places
  • Colour — graded D through Z
  • Clarity — from FL to I3, judged under 10× magnification
  • Cut — the grade that governs how the stone returns light

We do not sell treated, fracture-filled or undisclosed lab-grown stones as natural. Where a stone is lab-grown, the certificate and the invoice both say so.

Before it ships

Seven checks between the bench and the box

Certification proves what a piece is made of. These checks decide whether it leaves the building at all.

01

Weight & measure

Net weight recorded against the listed figure; anything beyond 3% variance goes back to the bench.

02

Stone security

Every setting checked under magnification for seating, prong tension and movement.

03

Finish

Polish, rhodium coverage and solder joints inspected in daylight-balanced light.

04

Clasp & closure

Screws, hooks and lobster clasps cycled by hand to confirm they hold.

05

Hallmark check

HUID cross-read against the invoice so the paperwork matches the metal.

06

Sealed & signed

Packed in tamper-evident wrap with certificate, invoice and care card enclosed.

If something is not right

Certification is a promise, not a formality. If a hallmark will not verify, a certificate does not match the piece, or a stone moves in its setting, tell us and we will collect the piece at our cost and either correct it or refund you in full. Repairs, re-polishing and re-rhodium plating on Chhajed jewellery are free for life.
